I am an associate professor at Audencia Business School with 18 years’ experience in non-financial accounting & reporting. I research in accounting for sustainable development and have an expertise in academia, practice and policy-making. I work and have worked with the UN Global Compact, the IIRC, WBCSD, R3.0 and CDSB, as well as the French government on carbon accounting and integrated reporting. In practice, I have developed carbon accounting, SDG accounting and integrated reporting for large companies and SMEs.
Prior to joining Audencia, I worked at Toulouse Business School and Birmingham Business School. I earned my PhD from HEC Paris. Before joining academia, I worked as a management controller at GE Healthcare, Danone and Syngenta, in Paris, USA and Asia. I speak four languages and have lived in China, Japan, USA, UK, Canada and Germany.
I research accounting for sustainable development and, in particular, topics around carbon, biodiversity and water. I am particularly interested in sustainability accounting innovations that inform the development of new approaches, practice, methods and tools. I am associate editor of Sustainability Accounting Management and Policy Journal. My work has been published in leading accounting journals such as Auditing and Accountability Journal, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Sustainability Accounting Management and Policy Journal. I am a member of CSEAR (Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research) and on the scientific committee of EMAN Europe (Environmental and Sustainability Management Accounting Network). My research has been recognized with a number of prestigious prizes.
I am passionate about linking research to teaching and practice and have developed several courses in CSR and sustainability accounting, case studies and modules linked to my specific research interests. I am also passionate about developing research and teaching that have an impact on society. I interact with accounting organizations and firms to help develop a shared interest into accounting for sustainable development, including through training, reporting and directly participating in standardization processes. My work includes public and business engagement and dissemination of my research through prominent online media platforms, such as The Conversation.
